Benefit Cheekathon Palette

By Martina - Wednesday, April 27, 2016

I love expensive makeup. I am addicted to any kind of makeup, actually. But I'm not one to splurge on makeup too often because I realise it's not the best option for me, as I'm a student and I don't have a job. I usually prefer to save up my money for holidays and gigs. This time, though, I really couldn't resist.

I've been lusting after Benefit's Box o'Powders for ages, but I've never really thought of getting one because I'm not the biggest fan of cardboard packaging and I also think that the price is a bit excessive for such a small amount of product. I always thought I'd end up buying them in various palettes and kits, teeny tiny sample sizes, so when I first found out about the Cheekathon palette I hardly contained my excitement. It claimed to have five full size blushers and a brush, and the blushers happened to be my favourites of the brand, those I really wanted to try. I knew I had to get it, but I thought they would only sell it in other countries and not in Italy, because we can only buy Benefit at Sephora and they usually don't have the whole range, only a selection of products (aka no limited editions).

Some weeks ago, I randomly visited Sephora's website - I'd heard that they had started selling Tony Moly and I wanted to check. On Sephora's homepage there were pictures of the new products they had in stock, and I immediately spotted the Cheekathon palette. I couldn't believe my eyes. I immediately forgot about Tony Moly and quickly realised I had a 20% discount code. I thought, "I'm going to get this as soon as possible".

And so I did.

I personally went to Sephora in Milan (I had to visit two before finding my palette) and proudly bought it. I also bought another couple of things - hand sanitizers and a brush cleaner - and I managed to save a lot thanks to my discount code.

I took tons of pictures before swatching the colours because the whole thing was too pretty not to. I'm not 100% satisfied with how the pictures look, but I'm still learning. I've managed to overcome my lighting problems thanks to my boyfriend (I know, you wouldn't say I learned something by looking at these pictures, but I promise I did). My main issue remains the background. It might sound silly but it's true, I'm never satisfied by my backgrounds. I'm working on that too, though.

Since I'd never owned any Benefit blusher or bronzer before, and I haven't had the time to test all the colours yet, I can't really review this palette properly. Plus everybody and their mum owns these products so I don't really have anything to add, there are plenty of reviews out there and I'm not even a makeup expert so I'll skip that part. I am just too happy and I really had to show that on my blog.

Do you have any of these blushers?
What's your favourite and how do you apply it?
